As some people have already reported on other threads, I too am having to replace my Dunlop run-flats after 12,000 miles because of excessive wear.

Anyone in the UK out there who has had to do this? I don't drive too madly, although I do enjoy my car now and then. Is this sufficiently bad performance to get the dealers involved I wonder?

Next question is what to replace them with? I am tempted to go back to non run-flats for comfort reasons and the Dunlop SP 9000 seem to be favourite at the moment. Anyone tried these yet and any comments? Goodyear do a F1 EMT which are run flats - are they as hard a ride as the OEM Dunlops?

I have been recommended to try Falkens as they are supposed to be the db's, but how do you try a tyre? I either buy them or not!!

My priorities are - performance, comfort, durability and price in that order.

Hi golfnut. See Honest John's review of a BMW 1 series that has the Michelin run-flats, he really rates them.

I have the Bridgestones at they are still going strong after 15,500 miles. Ride quality is not great though.

I've done almost 10k miles and there's an annoying amount of tread still left!

I want to get rid of the run-flats but I want to get down to about 3mm of tread at least! I still think there's about 4.5-5mm left...

I replaced my Dunlops after about 20,000 miles. The dealer strongly adviced me against fitting non-runflats on the 124 rims.
So I'm the proud owner of a new set of Dunlops...

(They weren't completely gone btw, but two of them sustained some damaged from my beach adventure)

I replaced my run-flats to Bridgestone Potenza S-03. It is a pretty good tires.. the ride is a lot smoother now.

Hows the handling? Better grip? How do they fit on the rim, about the same width, wider, narrower?

Leonard.

I've done just over 7700 miles on my OEM Dunlops. Touch wood but wear not that bad yet (from what I can see anyway). Keeping an ear out for the excessive noise mentioned in this forum though. Lets hope it doesn't happen.

What's the reason for advising against non-runflats? (I have 124's too)
