Well guys, I checked and I am definitely getting a 06 model from BMW. The problem is that there is nothing technically wrong on the dealer's side. We negoiated on a 06 price list and it was written down as a 06 model on the contract. What I am pissed about is that the salesman should have informed me during middle of March about a 07 model, and if there is zero price increase he should wait a couple of weeks before submitting the order so I can get the latest model. Most of us know about a residual difference of a few thousand dollars between 06 and 07.
Furthermore, there are people taking deliveries of 07 models in April already, while I explicitly told the sales guy that I don't need my car before the middle of May. This situation is frustrating.

I would take delivery in May then. They will have to hold the car for another month. It will kill them and unfortunately you. However tell them that if they make it worth your while, you will take the car early. I really wish I had done this with my car but I just couldn't wait once it hit the dealer.

You negotiated on a 06 price list and it was written down as a 06 model on the contract. Sorry, but I don't see why your upset with the salesman..... you're getting exactly what you ordered!
As a customer who is buying a 90K car, should I be comfortable about my 06 car sitting idle at the dealership for nearly a month and a half while others are driving their 07 models out the door before me?

Your salesman may very well have been trying to meet his quaterly target, or he just wanted to make sure you get your car in May, due to the delivery time fluctuations. Some people get their cars in 5 weeks, while other may have to wait 10 wweks. In your case, the car came really quick; however, if it had taken the full 10 weeks, I think you will also be upset at your dealer for being late on the delivery.
Since you already negiotiated a price for a 2006, I doubt there is any bargining room, but you can try walking away. If you are really not going to be happy with a MY06 car, I suggest you quit complaining and just order an 07. Good luck waiting for the car though!

If I were you, dont take the car. Negotiate the price again and order a MY07 if you're not happy with the price take your business elsewhere. If that happened to me I would prob walk out on the car...
