Hello guys! I went to the local BMW dealership where I usually go for my service, oil changes, etc.
I dropped off my car yesterday for an oil change, I waited, it took about aprox. 40 mins.

Reason for going to the Dealer:

1. Oil change
2. Remove this Texas Flag Magnet thing in the back from the trunk (it was there when I purched the car back in November)

After waiting the 40 mins. I got my car, the sticker was taken off but it had all the rubber "gooey thing" on the trunk. It looked like they just pulled it off and that's it. I was pis**d how awful of a job they did. I asked the guy who was drying the car, and he looked at me like "huh? i dunno" then he went to the service manager (? I guess that's what there called, the guy that sits in the office) He came to me and appologized for the unprofessional job they did, and he had another person come and clean it out. It was much better. There were some shades left but I guess that's because the stickers been there for a while and he told me that would come out if I get it buffed. Ok so when I get in the car, the drivers seat is pulled all the way back and tilted all the way down (gangster style-I guess) and I was like wtf, the dude's driving my car like it's his own with the radio on "loud blast". I was a little annoyed.

after that I left. Now today, when I noticed.

On iDrive, I go to > service > engine oil > It reads Engile Oil and Filter OK - 6,000 mls. I thought everytime you get a oil change done, it's suppose to last 12,000 miles? And when you turn on the car before you start it, I thought it showed on the odometer digital screen on how many miles are left until next oil change. right? On that it reads 2400 miles and 5/09

For some reason, I belive they didn't change the oil.

My oil wasn't due, I took it in a little early, because when I purcahsed the car, the person who had it prior had it done at Quaker State. But for some reason, I think they didn't change the oil. All they did was wash it and remove the sticker and charge me $99

Did they change my oil?

Which dealership was it? Based on that Texas flag
on your trunk, it sounds like the car was originally
purchased at Classic BMW.

If you car wasn't due for an oil change, I don't think
they would reset the oil change indicator. But I could
be wrong here.

even if my cars not due, they reset the oil service interval on my idrive... when its reset it goes to 15,000 miles.

maybe they just forgot to reset the idrive which is easy enough to do yourself, but when you pay for something to be done it should be done right. sounds like a crappy dealership i would go somewhere else in the future. if you want to know how to reset the oil change interval yourself send me a private message and i'll help you out

Thats correct. If the car doesnt say its due for an oil change they do no reset it even after they changed the oil.

When I had the car I paid for in between oil changes after 7,500 miles and they do not reset the count down, that way after another 7,500 miles ish I get an oil change for "free"

agreed, if your still under 4yr/50k warrenty they will not reset it until the interval is up. after that they will reset it each time since they are not free anymore.

It was done @ autobahn motors BMW in downtown Fort Worth. I bought the car in November 2008 from McKinney Suzuki. I am assuming the original owner purchased it at Classic BMW (I believe it's in Plano, right?)

When I purchased the car it had a sticker on the top left that indicated that the last oil change was done at Quaker State, when I took the car to Autobahn BMW in fort worth in nov. 2008, they showed me all the records on the car... The last time there was a oil change done at BMW was in 2007. So that would be correct since they previous owner changed it at Quaker state in 2008.

I have put 10,000 miles on the car since I purcahsed it back in Nov. 2008, I just took it for an oil change. But aren't they supposed to reset it everytime you do the oil change?

The car has 64,900 Miles on it. So I pay for everything. I purchased the car when it had 54,300 miles back in Nov. 2008
