I have owned a couple Bimmers, never had a non-bmw loaner. Probably because I make my appointments in advance.
+1, I always call ahead to ensure a nice loaner will be available. Before we moved here, my old dealer would even let me schedule the exact BMW loaner I wanted.

I got a Camary with the worst front wheel drive torque steer I have felt in years. My local dealer (brought my car else where) only offers these piles which I find amazing since the sell Porshes, MBs, Audis and BMWs. I guess it makes you hurry to get the car back to them with as few miles put on it as possible.

I gather this is one of those times when we in the UK don't need to feel short-changed that this isn't being made as a right hand drive. For the sake of relieving my ignorance, what kind of car is this?

it might be a piece of rubbish but at least you got something. I had to take in my car to BMW for reinstalling the iDrive OS and had to leave it over the weekend -- I got nothing. Basically you had to take care of leaving and returning on your own. No one cares.

Their service kinda sucks... especially when Lexus here does so good in service--although I don't like their cars, they do give you a loaner or go pick it up wherever you might be (home, office, etc).

^^ OMG are they on the same platform?

Everyone:
I did plan in advance! However this perticular dealer has a contract with "enterprise rent a car" and this loaner came from them. I think all BMW dealers Ive been to provide a loaner.

I like the loaners when my car is at service over the years.

Been driving a Mini, 116i, 320i, 325xiA, 335Ci and 530dA.

It's fun to test drive other BMW products!
