The SMG tranmission has shut down twice on my 05 545 with the fault indicating that I can only use neutral 1st and 3rd. Has anyone else had this problem and what did the dealer do to correct it?

My Ride: MY05 545i Jet Black with Auburn interior. SMG, Logic7, Sport Package, Comfort Seats, Navigation.
My car refused to start one morning and it got towed in. 12 days later, a brand new transmission replaced my old one. I only had 1,500 miles and no, it wasn't the battery that went bad. They didn't know what was wrong with the car, but the error code indicated that it was coming from the transmission. As per BMWNA's request, the dealer shipped my transmission back to BMWNA for further analysis.

Just reminding you my first 2005 SMG was bought back due to transmission trouble, but my new 545 SMG hasn't had one error on it.

My Ride: 530i 6 speed
I had this error last Thanksgiving on the way to dinner. Car had to be towed - family was VERY happy.....
Dealer had no freaking clue what was wrong. Happened again twice since then. Goes away every time I turn offf the car...

for all you new bmw owners.....
i expect and accept this dopey little things and problems with bmw. they are fun to drive but a nigthmare to own. some people do ok but when i goto the dealer they are allot of people like me who have had massive anounts of problems.
and bmw is very good for "cant duplicate problem". one time my rear diff failed on another BMW i owned and the tech told me he couldnt hear the problem....it was as loud a jet flying overhead.
