Well here on the forum everyone said in order to get ventilated seats(453) you need Nasca leather & Comfort seats. Well turns out that is not true. To get ventilated for '06 you need Nasca leather and Premium pkg then you can add Ventilated seats. At first I didn't believe the dealership, then after talking to 3 other dealerships and BMWNA they all said the same thing. So I ordered the car that way & it arrived and was equiped as described.

But here lies the problem, the premium pkg normally has Dakota leather and a bunch of little extras & costs $2000, the Dakota leather by itself costs $1400 so you pay $600 for the extra stuff. Since I needed Nasca leather, the dakota leather that comes with the prem. pkg is out but get this, BMW is charging me $2000 for the prem. pkg. and all I get from it are those extra gadgets that come with it, something that is valued at about $600 is costing me $2000. I am getting screwed and can't do nothing about it. Essentially I am paying for Dakota leather & Nasca but obviously just get nasca.

Same thing happened when I ordere the comfort seats. It cost $1200 and includes the lumbar support option, which by itself was $550.

For My2005, lumbar support became standar equipment. But to upgrade to comfort seats, you still have to pay $1200.

I am glad to see BMW has lowered its sport package in response to excluding the Active steering for MY06.

I ordered mine and they told me I needed comfort seats. I was skeptical, but now that I took delivery I think the comfort seats are absolutely the best option I have EVER gotten on any BMW of mine. And I have been through 4, all with no comfort seating option.

I would have loved to get Comfort seats, but they said the requirement for ventilation was premium & nasca. BMWNA told me that in MY2005 the requirement was Comfort & Nasca. I would take Comfort seats over premium pkg. I wish that was the current requirement.
