Maybe you can have them throw in an aftermarket warranty Tell them they have a deal if they do so.

Check the car throughly and make sure that all the components that should come with a 545i are included. Also be aware that insurance is going to be higher than it was for the truck. Any parts you buy are going to be more expensive. Don't get yourself into something you can't afford to keep.

Hey everybody. I was just going to say that insurance for our 04 GMC 4x4 diesel is only about $50 less per 6 months than for the 06 530xi I just bought. So that might be comparable for you. If I had it to do over and I knew I could get a reputable aftermarket warranty (if there is such a thing) I might have sunk my money into that instead of certification. If the dealer can offer something like that, you might be as nearly as well off as if you purchased from a BMW dealer... Just my thoughts on the subject...

Car sounds nice. IMHO I would never have my wife by a bimmer without a warranty. The first time she took it in for service and saw the bill she would have severe buyers remorse. I'm out of warranty myself, but I'm ok with paying $120+ for an oil change... kind of...

I bought a 545 out of warranty and I love my car! Would I do it again? Eh.. no .

Minor stuff adds up quick man, and all you need is one reasonably serious problem and BAM, you just sank the money into the car that could have got you into a newer car WITH a warranty.

i would pass....i own a 545 myself, but i wouldn't buy w/o warranty. if your g/f is in the mkt for a 5 series or a bmw, the dealerships should be getting some 06' and 07' 550's lease returns and those will be cpo'd till 100k - be patient, and GL.

Go back tommorow, try to get it lower then leave. Then come back the last day of the month. You will get a better deal, they are trying to make quota last day.

Thanks everyone for the great advice! I got the deal down to 24k just for the hell of it but still didn't go through with it because of the warranty issues. I felt the same way just needed to hear it from everyone else... Love is a dangerous thing... I still love that car... But we have since found a new mate for my 545i... Will let you know how that goes when I get back from Bimmerfest!
