New to the forum and was curious if anyone has know how to transfer a CPO warranty from the original owner? Recently purchased a 06' 530i with full CPO and Maintenance untill 100,000 miles or 72 months. Just hit the four year mark although car only has 44k and looking to take it in for idle problem. Called CS @800-831-1117 and was told to call dealership who told me to call CS? Thanks!

Manufacturer bumper-to-bumper warranty, and CPO warranty stays with the vehicle. When the vehicle report is pulled by a BMW Center, it will show any balance of warranty based vehicle mileage and the date. If a BMW Center sold the CPO vehicle, the owner's particulars should have been updated. If the CPO vehicle was not sold by BMW Center. then the current owner has to contact BMW Customer Service for details on how to update the information.

My brother just bought a 04 330i, which was a CPO car from another owner... I asked my dealer what to do to get the ownership info switched with BMW.
I was told to call BMW NA at 1-800-831-1117 and just let them know that I was the new owner. It was actually pretty easy and BMWNA will then send out new CPO cards in your name.
Also, in terms of CPO warranty at the dealer... The car has the CPO on it, not the owner... So, even if you haven't switched the owner details w/ BMW NA; The dealer will still honor the warranty.

You don't have to do anything. Just take it in for service andd they should have the records. I just bought a CPO car from a private seller last month and I am now getting it service under CPO warranty for just $50 without having to sign any transfer documents.
