Maybe his #7 is the Premium Sound Oprion. I think it is a must too for being a much better sound system, extra features (6 CD changer) and better resale (all things that others have noted as well). But in any case a great spec. Congrats.

huge error! Should have gone with comfort access! And not ordering Logic 7 is just plain ludicrous!
Yep...I concur.

Welcome to the 550 club, Mr Hogan. Excellent choice.

Don't worry, the wait will not kill you ... but it will feel like it.

It looks like you will be getting your 550 here in Chicago just in time to throw the clubs in the trunk!

Thanks everyone for the input. Invaluable help.

I like the logic in your thinking. You got the most important thing -- the V-8 engine. Contact Beewang to see if you can lease his navigational disk -- Are you getting the nav? Makes driving around less stressful with the BMW nav lady directing you. Driving in March should beat the experience I had in mid-December. Maybe you can cross into the Alps. And if you plan a two-week stay in Europe (and enjoy going fast), be sure to check out the Nuberberg Ring.

Absolutely agree, the V8 power is the best option. Yes, I'm getting NAV and will need to get the euro nav disk. It wasn't easy driving from the airport to downtown Munich on my first visit two years ago. Actually quite scary.

The delivery timing looks good, however, I'd go to Germany to drive a BMW any time of year. The car should be back for the better weather.

Since eveyone puts there $.02

I would ditch my Sport package due to where I live. New England roads are notoriously uneven and pot-holed making the ride unpleasant and with good tires, your already heads and tails above other cars in handling. I would certainly get this option if living down in the sunbelt or CA, AZ etc. Active steering is nice and since it can be ordered seperately, seems now to be more of a drivability enhancement rather than performance enhancement.

I am not an audiophile and actually listen to NPR or Sportscenter mostly but think that Logic 7 is a must. I did not get it ---- big mistake ---- and think the standard stereo sucks on those days when you want to crank some U2 or whatever.

Comfort access is a gimick considering the cost....Yeaaaa - get to push the big START button, making me feel less in insignificant next to Lexus owners.

ED - awesome and only way to buy a car now for me. If creating brand loyalty is now the main focus of the program (as oppsed to brand awareness in the '70's) then BMW gets my next 10 cars.

I changed my mind several times after I placed my initial order. Since you have a March ED you may be able to change it till the end of Januarly. Like everyone has mentioned, I agree, you defineatly need to add Premium Sound!!!!

Good luck with the wait. Can't wait to see your pics!
