I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 530 I have checked online and it is "scheduled for or in production." Can anyone tell me how long this process will take? I live in Florida and can't wait to get my new car!! [SIZE=1][COLOR=blue]530i jet black/beige, premium pkg., Nav., automatic/steptronic, xenon, satellite prep.

In your case, 8 weeks

1 week of waiting for production

2 weeks for the actual production

1 week of idiling/transport to port via railroad.

1 week of loading/waiting for the ship

2 weeks for trans-Atlantic voyage

1 week Clearing Custom/VPC

assuming you car wasn't dinged-up in the trans-Atlantic voyage, the car should clear VPC and be in your dealer in about 8 weeks.

hope this helps.

That link that Rudy provided says that the car is produced in 5-7 days. On our factory tour in Munich, the guide told us that each car takes only about 24 hours to go through the line. The painting is done and force dried, some coats are only powder and then baked on (the color coat for example is powder). After seeing the actual assembly, I had a sense that 24 hours is probably correct for the assembly including metal work, welding, painting, and all the rest. There may be lead time as the order is being set into the system with parts deliveries, and all other things have to come together.

Has anyone else been on the tours that heard that as well?
