My Ride: 2011 550i M sport
Hello all. I wanted to share this story with you all.
My 2005 545i is a cpo but I never purchased the extended maintenance plan because I only drive 12-15k a year and didnt think it was worth it. In the last 6 months I had the rear brakes changed as well as the oil. Well, the maintenance plan expires 5/31/09 or in about 200 miles (ie in the next week). Now, the i drive was saying brake fluid needed changing 6/09 (after plan expires) and microfilter needed changing in 3000 miles. Well I took it in because the front brakes were clicking loudly and I asked the SA to change the brake fluid and if not under the plan I would pay (so I wouldnt have to go back next month and pay for the change AND the mandatory $67 inspection when u do things like this). I was ok with paying as the car has been very good to me as was the SA. Well, Let me tell you what was done:
Front brakes changed FREE bc they were somehow damaged causing the clicking
Brake fluid changed FREE (recommended by computer and now not needed again for two more years)
Wiper blades changed FREE
MICROFILTER CHANGED FREE (apparently it was recommended by the computer)
UNBELIEVABLE...with these things and my rear brakes changed free 2 months ago.....I will likely not need to spend a penny for maintenance in the next 2 years...WITHOUT paying almost 2k to extend the maintenance. That my friends is why I love this automobile, the SA and the automaker. Just thought I would share this with you as we hear about bad dealers often but rarely about good experiences
