Heya!

Look if it's any help, as a fellow young driver (22 yrs. old) who loves to drive using near insane cornering speeds, I think you'll like this car very much. It revs really well and when you want it go, it shouldn't disappoint you at all, especially if you get the automatic tranny and switch it to DS mode. Although SMG is still from what I've heard, the real performance option.

Insurance is going to cost you heaps though, out of the 8 insurance companies I spoke to, 6 of them refused to cover me. <_<

As long as you don't expect it to compete with a Skyline or Supra at the next intersection, this car shouldn't dissapoint you at all. But then again, you could always wait for the M5.

Oh and yeah, get the HUD!!! Don't order your car without it!!! I seriously wish I had it. I think it's one of the defining elements of the 5 series. Plus, you can't retrofit it in the future even if you wanted to or so I've heard.

Hope it helps.

Whoa, why are they refusing to insure you?

I deffinately drive like you :-D hence the valentine one and possible passport laser shifter.

Can somebody explain the DS mode to me please, I have read a few people mention it, but my BMW dealer never really sat down and explained anything to me - granted they probably dont think I would actually buy this car.

I am not the racing kind of driver, but I love to drive fast. My concern is going from the TSX and FX35 down to something with less HP, from 200 and 260+ respectively to the 525 with only 184 (i believe - dont remmeber off the top of my head)

Also, I am concerned about losing the technology features. I live and dye by tech features, the nav in the acura is awesome, all the air and radio controls are touch screen operated, the sound system is the acura's and infiniti are excellent, i love loud music... in the 525 everything is all analog on the dash... i worry about ending up hating that... on the other hand i worry about getting the tl and hating not having the handling and performance... if anybody knows a good blend between the two please tell me now! lol

thanks for the help everybody

Why stick to the 525? The extras you are talking about add so much money to the price. If you cut out just some of the options, you could get a 530 with the money you save and not worry as much about the hp difference.

We started out looking at a 525, but ended up with the 530 for not much more. Beside the other obvious differences, I couldn't stand the 525 wheels, so I'm so much happier with the 530.

Or (Evenflow's bourbon and water finally kicks in), alternatively again, take the 525; immediately sell it; and buy a slightly used M3. You'd have to carry four baseball bats to beat off all the chicks.

Ahhhhh . . . I wish I were 19 again.
Evenflow - why not just pretend that you're 19 on this forum!

Well, all I really added was the nav, (which i cannot live without, i travel way 2 much not to have it), the premium package and cold weather... heated seats and such are very useful in the 9 coldmonths lol.
