R u sure L7 isn't part of premium pak?

Regardless, you CANNOT get car without sport pak. It will change the driving experience aside from visual changes to car. L7 is nice but no way would that take priority of sport pak.

I've got it - do a European Delivery and get both - the savings for the ED will pay for both options, plane tickets, and a rental car at home while you're waiting for the 5 to sail in. What wife would say no to a trip to Europe? If your's would, go alone.

Of course, that may be impractical . . . if it is, the Sport Package is the way to go.

To buy a BMW without sports package defeats the purpose of buying a BMW in the 1st place.

You can go buy a W211 very cheaply right now. Why bother with E60 if you don't care about handling? <_<

Speaking from experience, the sport pack and L7 together are far less expensive than paying for the old wife prior to the acquisition of a new wife.

I vote for a new wife who doesn't force such decisions. I would trade her in and the navi for the Logic 7 and Sport. If i had to choose though it would be the Sport all the way.

bestbuy:
Keep the wife, way harder to get a good one than a new car!!! I have both, sports package & logic 7. I would take the sports package over the sound system - more about driving for me. I am willing to kick in if you pass the hat.

Come on, it is still BMW and nothing handles like BMW no matter is it sport or non-sport.
I have non-sport 545i and handling is great and much better than any other car I drove in my life. I still can make 50-60 mph turns without any noticeable body roll. May be they mistakenly put active roll stabilization in my 545i .
Probably, it's me but I test-drove both sport/non-sport 545i and could not notice any significant difference in handling . Non-sport 545i was actually more comfortable for regular city/highway driving. Sport 545i had a firmer ride because of run-flats I guess.

I agree with alohalc it really depends on you. Logic7 is great. I recommend to drive both sport/non-sport E60 and decide.

I have both L7 and sport pak. If Iwere to choose again, I'd pick L7. I didn't think too much of L7 when I first got it...but after the speakers (or the system) were broken in or after the sw upgrade...wow.... it sounds almost as good as a $3000 after market system I put in my other car.

As for the sport package, it comes with run flats and unless the roads in your area are in good conditions, I would rather go with the standard suspension but get the active stabilizers for cornering.

The roads are in pretty bad shape in some parts of Toronto and the harsh ride from the spork suspension and run flats really get on my nerves after awhile.

You decide what's more important to you...comfort or absolute best handling. Think about it.... after a day's work, do you really want a harsh ride driving home?

Isn't the entire car designed to be a "sport"?
