well I somewhat have good news. Just got a phone call today from the sales manager and he is giving me 4700 dollars cash. He said do to the fact that I haven't had any major mechanical problems that they can only help me with money to trade in the vehicle. I think I am going to accept this offer. what do you guys think?

Sounds like you are getting a new car without any expense.

The Kelly Blue Book indicates the retail value (private sale) of a 2004 530i w/premium and 12,500 miles is $40,480. Assuming that they will give you $4700 on top of the $37000 they previously offered you for a trade-in, you will get a total of $41,700 for your car (about $1200 more than you should be able to sell it to a private party for).

If you are not going to buy another BMW, you are getting $1200 for your trouble. If you want to buy another BMW, then I recommend that you get a deal similar to the one Branie555 got -- that they sell you a new BMW with options at their invoice price.

That does make sense guest Thanks. I most definitely want to get another bmw. Guest should I ask them to give me the 4700 and another 530 or 545 at invoice. How should I negotiate this? Hey Branie555 if you would be so kind to inform me how much you got for your trade in and what was invoice on the 05 545? Thanks for Info!

OneFat99,

I know exactly what you're going through...initially i didn't want to share this information because everyone would run to their dealership...... I bought a 2004 530 in oct. 0f 2003 w/prem, sprt pckg, xenon..etc.

Within the 12+ months that i had the car it was in for service some every 4-5 weeks (total mileage 12,500 miles)...I was told from the service manager a total of nearly 50 days. anyway i complained of the same problems you're experiencing, in fact you seem to have more than i had...so i met with the head service manager he had all my service appointment records pulled out and contacted bmwna of my behalf.

After two weeks of contstant nagging on my part, this took place in nov. 2004, I was given an option of getting a brand new 2005 530 with the same packages at ABSOLUTELY no additional cost to me or... and this is exactly what i did, i was given the option to purchase a more expensive vehicle and simply pay the difference between what i paid for the '04 530 and the msrp of the new car. I purchased a 2005 545i and paid $8,000.

Be persistent...continue to pursue this with the head service manager...good luck

by the way...i purchased my car at assael bmw

Did you get my PM? I detailed everything there. If not PM again. Sounds like you're making progress.
