I finally did it. 
After over a year and a half of waiting, I finally placed my order today.
Couldn?t wait for the 550i to come because I would end up missing our summer.

What ever happened with the ordeal that you cant order a 545 anymore? how did you convince your dealer to order one for you? If you said it somewhere else sorry I must have missed it.

hope the wait is not too unbearable, when is she due to arrive?

I've now been told by two dealers that they (the dealer) can not order any new 545i for April production (they may though be able to order "sold" 545i's but nothing for their showrooms) ... they hinted again that most likely the 550i will begin production and be shipped once the 545i inventory in the dealerships is reduced ... most likely seeing the 550i arriving in the fall in North America ...
That said, I would be very happy if the car is going to be built after week 9 so that hopefully it would receive the upgrades that have already been highlighted in other posts (changes to the interior, navigation, brakes, etc) ...
I'll let you know if and when I hear from the dealer when the production date is set for the car ...
