It only takes 3 days to build the car. It is done rather quickly. Th ewait id to get to port and on a ship. Then the ship has to fill up and sail across. That is the hardest part. PLus you have to wait until your car finally makes it to the produce line.

I ordered my 530i on Sat. 11/27.? It is in production now.? Scheduled completion date is 12/8.? I should have it by first week in January says my dealer.? Seems pretty quick in comparison with others.? Maybe I got lucky?

Yes, you are very lucky. I think your dealership could find a car with exact same options you want in their reserved slot. Otherwise, it is impossible!

My dealer had a generic dealer spec'd car reserved but they were able to change the color and add the SMG that I was looking for. That probably saved a couple weeks in the process. You might want to check with a couple of dealers to see if one of them would be willing to do that for you.

Yeah, I did a same thing for my 545 SMG. Placed order on 11/23, and they modified options of their pre-ordered car with mine on the same day. A few days later, probably 11/27, it went into production mode in the system and spec was locked. 11/27, you placed your order, might be a last day for the dealership to modify the options for their pre-ordered car...... How lucky you are!!
