For those who leased through BMW FS before: Do they offer you to get out of lease earlier if you get another vehicle from them?

Another question: What is the better value 24month lease vs 36, difference is about $50.

As to your first question...you can always get out of a lease in the same manner that you can get out of a finance deal. At any given time during the lease you have a "pay off amount" you are always welcome to pay that amount to purchase the car. This is no different than the "balance" that you owe at any given time on a straight finance deal.

If you were 12 months into a lease and wanted a new car...you would simply need to address your "pay off amount" as part of the new deal (you could be upside down or not depending on your original cap cost and any cap reduction money that you put up front). But will you be able to walk away free and clear, prior to the scheduled lease end date, simply because you are buying another vehicle? No

And this scenario would hold true if you were moving from the BMW to a Benz or whatever...it has nothing to do with staying with the brand...it is a simple matter of economics.

I hope this helps

ps-to your second question...impossible to know simply based on the monthly payment amount...you might want to find a lease calculator on line and compare the two options to determine what is best for you. For my 2-cents not knowing anything about the deal...I would do the 3-year...the car will be under warranty, it will have its maintenance covered etc...do you really think you would want out of it in 2 years?

i am leasing for two years. My lease is dude 11/10. Can not offer much help. I want to keep her for one more year. Until my lease expired. Then, I am getting another 2 yrs lease.

Waiting for the complete redesign of the 7. I think i am going to buy a 7 once it comes out with a total complete redesign.

Yeah, but the only 'risk' in doing that is first year models -> horrendously buggy and require a lot of maintanence You'd essentially be a guinea pig/beta tester for BMW. But hey, if you're up for it that's fine with me

Good luck

I don't believe BMW Financial has any promotions at this time where they would absorb any payments. I know in the past they have, albeit the dealer contributes.

In terms of the second, I would do want you want. $50 is a very small difference b/w 24 & 36 mos. The residual % are like 69% vs 60%, albeit the longer term lease has a higher MF. Are you putting a significant amount of money down?

Check with the finance dept. at your dealer. They may be helpful and give you a more accurate number. But you probably know this already.

The November program was 69% on 24 months and 60% on 36 months, assuming 15K per year. The money factor was actually the same at 3.6%. I don't think the program has changed for December, but I am not sure.

I actually just did an early lease termination from a 540 sport into a 545 sport...The lease on the 540 was supposed to end April 25, 2005 but after having so many problems with it(it was towed to the dealer 3 times in the course of the last 2 weeks I had it), I told the dealer I wanted out of it. The dealer ended up eating about 2/3 of the remaining payments and took the other 1/3 and spread it amongst the 36 payments on the 545 lease. I just had to sign the odometer statement and the dealer took care of the rest. I've had nothing but positive experiences with BMW FS over the course of the last 3 leases I've had with them. They are more than willing to negotiate with you as opposed to other leasing companies I've dealt with. They even offered to defer some lease payments without me even asking to do so, when my office building(WTC 1) went down on 9/11...

Also, some dealers will offer to buy back(aka take it off your lease) your car before the lease term on special programs. I got a letter from my dealer to buy back my 540 this August, but there was only a 3 day window to do so and I was out of the country at the time...
