Came in today. Just replacing the part didn't do the trick. The reset with the mileage button didn't work (tried two times). My repairman got his laptop with the bmw software on it. The reset didn't work the first time or second time. Third time it accepted reset from the computer program. Front brake system is now reset to 40.000 km.

I wonder if it would have worked without replacing the wear sensor. Don't know. The sensor costed more than 20 euro's....
Anyway. Problem solved. Anyone thx for the help.

grtz,
najrad

Glad you got it fixed. I might have to visit a dealer, it seems.

Changes my brakes in June (idrive said 6000 miles until replacement did change anyway) had no problem with service overdue indicator -1000 miles coming up in idrive until yesterday... My dad changed my brake fluid for me and I did the reset from the odometer all went well until I pressed the button to many times and now I have Service Overdue front break wear very low -1000miles.. I did the reset again and its still there. Drove for over an hour to work this morning and did the reset again at work still at -1000 miles... sensor and pads changed in June.. should I remove the sensor again and put it back on after a few minutes or does my car have to go into BMW for a reset. Also does anyone know of a shop on long island that will reset it..?

you have to way until that interval is "up to date" than you can reset without any trouble
