Just wanted to vent about my experience with EasyCare; whom I have purchased wheel and tire insurance through. So I hit pothole here in MI, very very common and disastrous, much like in NY etc. So the front passenger tire blew and bent the rim and slightly bent the back rim. The adjuster went out to note the issues and sign off on the wheel and tire that were already ordered at Disc. tire. The adjuster denies the coverage because the rims still hold air. They also tell me that it is at my discretion whether i drive on a bent rim and any damage occurring from this, they will not be liable for. So they wont replace the bent rims because it holds air, even though it wobbles like a SOB on the balance machine; and if something happens from driving on it, it will not be their problem. Here is my plug, if you are looking for wheel and tire insurance - or any after-manufacture warranty i highly recommend you DO NOT go through EasyCare ( i am sure some people have their coverage and will have positive stories, but my situation is preposterous)

of course i would love the chance to sue for neglegence if something were to happen while i am driving at high speeds on the highway.

if anyone has advice, please share, otherwise i will continue to sit here and sulk at work.
caio

So they deny the claim but tell you not to drive on it, WTF? I would call you BMW dealership that sold you the contract. If they are promoting these then they should hold some accountability in my opinion. If they won't fix the rim why not file with your insurance company? Surely they don't want you driving on it since that may lead to bigger issues.

i thought of that: $1000 deductible - this is more about the principle of the matter. I just have never had an experience where I was backed up to a wall by a company. I should have made sure the rims were complete unsalvagable, like someone would do in a bad wreck to claim a total loss. Just unbelievable that we pay for a warranty and then we have to fight the get the money out. Maybe I've been fortunate to not have to deal with this crap.

CALL your local Dept of Transportation. We pay taxes for them to upkeep the roads. Pothole= bad upkeep. I just had all 4 wheels replaced in FL for similar situation (actually got my m6 time attacks). No questions asked even. they just cut me a check.

here is the thing with getting refunded from the state (transp. dept) it will take a while to get the funds first off. It is not a quick turn around time, you would have to show cause, pictures etc..
