Not sure about US vs UK, but I'm afraid the 545 is the one that really does depreciate. See my reply above if you haven't already.

Mark,

My dad loves his 7. I'm surprised there is any paint left on it the amount of time he spends cleaning it! (and I thought I was bad).

I had some better news this morning. The dealer I usually use, and whom I bought my current car from, has offered me ?30k for it which is a significant improvement on the offer made to me on Wednesday by dealer S who is also close to where I work. I find it incredible that there can be a ?2k difference.

I am now seriously contemplating the 535 sport which I've had a quote on. Because the base price is much higher BMW have reduced the price of certain options i.e. leather, by a fair amount - ?520 to be precise. They have also introduced some option packs for the UK which further reduce prices. There is now a media package for example which includes professional nav, bluetooth prep and 6 disc CD. It is much cheaper than the individual prices.

I can see a carbon black/auburn 535d sport gracing my drive in early November now.

ISUK,
I'm sure that in view of your regular purchases your usual dealer will do you a good deal to swap to a 525 Sport. I notice the car configurator on bmw.co.uk now has the Sport option. The reason why leather is a reduced price option is that the Sport includes as standard part leather/alcantara sport seats.
I'm surprised you are not considering Alpine white which I notice is now available for the first time in UK - now that would seriously hit your residuals for six!!!
Let us know how you get on.

Purchasing through European Delivery i was able to get my 530i for about three grand below US invoice. I wonder how much i would lose off of invoice if i traded her in for a MY 2005?!
