Looking to buy a one owner 2005 545i SMG 30K miles. Warranty expires in less than 2 weeks, but I don't know if I can justify the purchase price if I have to extend the warranty. With that low of miles, should I be concerned about this E60 having warranty or not? I plan to keep the car for now more than 2 years.

Thanks!!!
========================

Hey man I would first do a car fax check, and YES, I would buy an extended warranty. (It sounds good 30,000miles on a one owner 05, 545i, but I would offer 10% less of the asking price, whatever it is...((to help you pay for the extended warranty), and it is a bad time with our economy, and it is a buyers market. Now the 10% less offer might not work, but it does for me at some Atlanta GA BMW Dealers, and besides you never know until you try...).

Hope everything works out!!

I did, I regret it. Your wallet, though. I love my car but my bank account hates it.

If I were you I would get the warranty. My father in law and I argued and now I'm happy I did. The dealer will be replacing the airconditionong system including the compressor free of charge...cheers

This isn't true, at least with older models. I've had several cars, including bmw's, out of warranty and it wasn't as painful as one would think. Yeah, I encountered occasional repair but no big $$$$. Then again, I'm pretty new to the latest in what bmw has to offer. Are you guys saying that newer bmw's are not as good as the older models

Yes to the warranty.... I bought my 04 530i in February, at the time I purchased a extended warrant 60 k / 3 year for $2800.00 from old republic warranty company.

In the past 4 weeks I have had to replace .....

the idrive screen - $2200.00 bill
the steering column was replaced tolday - $1703.56 Bill

that is almost 4k , my portion was $100.00 which is the dedutilbe.

Honestly, I thought I was dooped into buying this warranty, but as you can see it was worth it.....

Just my 2 cents!
