Yes, there is no question that I will lease another BMW (provided that I can continue to afford a 550i Sport or M5). Having driven a non-sport E60 as a loaner, I would never, ever buy a non-sport 5 Series as the handling and grip are dramatically inferior to one with a sport package suspension, i.e., a non-XI with sport).
My dearly departed 2003 E39 540i Sport and my current 2009 E60 550i Sport were both outstanding driver's cars, combining serious power with tenacious handling. To me, the refinement of the suspension and steering is second to none in the sedan market and the reason that I love my BMWs so much.
But, to be clear, I only lease brand new cars for 3-4 years so I can't speak to their long-term reliability. I would never get a BMW outside of the warranty given how expensive they are to fix. In terms of short-term reliability, my E39 had no problems at all in three years. My E60 had a starter failure in its first year and a bunch of minor issues but nothing else major has gone wrong so far.

Heck no. In many instances they fill the space where there used to be a spare with electronics. I'm not going to waste my trunk space with a spare tire. We're the customers and we're letting BMW that many of us will not buy a car without a spare and without regular tires. It's up to them to listen to their customers and stop being arrogant in telling us to listen to them. Offer the damn RFTs as an option and I bet that there will be a very small percentage of buyers who will choose RFTs.
Tonymac, the myth. Welcome back, at least I hope you're back in the states. I hate to point this out to you, but this subject has been discussed before. Ahhhhh, felt good to write this. Everyone always "tonymacs" me when I repost. Sorry, bro, nothing personal.

HI, EVERYONE THIS IS A GREAT FORUM
I appreciate all the help and advice.
Not to be rude but after going through the forum every now and then
I am scared to repurchase a BMW.
They are nice but having oil leaks and defects and other problems with low mile and new cars
something is not right!?
I would like to read how this discussion goes.

I had RFTs on my last 550i and had 9 flat tires in just under 2 years of ownership. Each time, I was able to continue driving & simply called my dealer and made an appointment to have them changed at my convenience. I always have wheel & tire insurance so I really didn't care about the money. My recent 550i without runflats has had 4 flats in about the same amount of time but, unlike my last car, I was stranded several times. Once I blew 2 at the same time and had to wait on a flatbed and the other two times I needed to wait on the side of the road for BMW Assist. I realize that a lot (repeat, A LOT) of people have a problem with RFTs but for me, I would always rather have them.

My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
Of course I will buy another BMW, I know there are quirks associated with them but there's no way I can see myself buying anything else anymore.
