Best Extended Warranty?

I am picking up a 2004 545i This week with 49K miles one it that is out of warranty. What seems to be the best choice out there for extended warranties that don't break the bank? Thanks!!

BMW CPO if you can, but in your case it doesn't look like it. I heard Mercury Platinum is great and I've had good experiences with the Mercury company in the past.

I bought my 03 530i with 55K from the local Subaru dealer. They sold me a 3 year/36K "bumper to bumper" for like $3K from Wachovia. 4 weeks later I take it in for an oil leak that ends up replacing all gaskets for $3K. Wachovia covered a little over $2K, dealer picked up $300 and I the rest. I hope to have a lot more replaced under the warranty before it is through. Is this a good deal? Yes and no.
