I have posted this in a few other topics with no real response. My 2005 545 is stuck at the VPC. It, besides being a recurrent theme with the cars that I order, has been there for 10 days and will remain for a week more. My CA states that all BMW V8 cars including 6 and 7 series need to have the emmisions certified for the MY prior to being released. Does anyone know if this is BS? Did this happen with MY2004? Are the 05 525 and 530s being delivered without delay? Or am I just paranoid? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Paranoid and probably dealer BS... I believe they're stuck due to the bluetooth retrofit and probably software updates for the cars which is slowing down processing.

I know 2005 3 series are being delivered but I havent heard of anyone taking delivery of an 05 5 or 6 series yet. Should be anytime soon.. I do believe we had the same delays when MY2004 started but probably due to unrelated reasons.

My car is on the way but hasn't hit the VPC yet. I'm hoping that your car and the other ones there now get their issues resolved before mine arrives!

Sorry to hear you're having yet another VPC hangup. On the bright side, by the time your car arrives hurricane season might be over and you won't have to worry about debris flying into your vehicle!

I picked up my 2005 530i yesterday. It arrived at the VPC in New Jersey on 9/17 and went to my dealer on 9/27. My dealer also mentioned that the 2005 cars are being delayed at the VPC for emissions testing. My dealer is in NJ and my car was the first 5 series they have delivered.

Congratulations, C&N, on the new arrival. We'll be waiting to see photos of the first 2005 on the forum!

VPC means? Vehicle Processing Center?

Thanks to all for their replies, I guess since C&N picked up his 05 530 that the 6 cylinders must be ok, just the V8 cars remain. Jyeatman you are quite correct - I still have about a dump truck full of debris in my back yard ! Will post more info if I get any!
