Mike John's over in Southern IN (Jeffersontown maybe?) is who my Dad and Brother both use/used on their 2002's and E30's.
I have seen more modern BMW's over there when I have gone over to pick up stuff, but he really does not like to "tune" stuff... OEM all the way. Maint and fixing of issues ( including full rebuilds and wrecked cars). He has been getting some new staff that work on the more modern cars too.
He is a very skilled BMW Mechanic ( used to work for dealers back in the day) and many of the Bimmer drivers in Louisville swear by him.
Tuning wise I don't know any BMW specialists in the area, might want to try the Blue Grass BMW CCA , I'm willing to bet that if they don't know any they you are SOL, or Cincinnati, Indy or Nashville trips will be in your near term plans.

Becaue of Bowling Green, Corvettes, and marrying a close family member, Kentucky has become a very popular state.
