My Ride: Ordered: 2006 530i on Oct 1st, and due Mid Nov. 6 speed Manual, Navagation, Premium pkg, Sport pkg, Cold Weather pkg, Prem. Sound Package, Titanium Silver, Black Dakota Leather, Dark Poplar wood. 18" 7 Spoke wheels (style 123), euro reflectors, Sat Radio installed.
oh its an 06 255 hp 530i. Well this does make it interesting.
Ask yourself this...do you want to have the improvements in software and tech that the sept 06 models already have. Like the improved DSC, upgraded I drive, the Start/Stop button. a new car with only 12 miles on it?
I had a very similiar thing happen to me, where a lease on a 545i or a ordered 06 530 was about 60 bucks a month difference. 545i has only 1000 miles on it. Somewhere in NJ, I had no way of knowing if there were scratches or dings. I know its not the norm, but I opted for a brand new 530i speced out my way. I felt I wanted the latest and greatest, and the 550i was not the option cause its not orderable with stick shift. plus it was much more.
A lease on a 530i is attractive right now, for a reason... they want to push em out..
think about options, then about speed. I drove a 545i stick shift and it was a blast. power is nice, and almost too quiet.
530 is more of the "over achiever" it revs higher, its more spirited cause it has a 7000 rpm red line. I found i would be happy with all the options I wanted plus MP3 capability with the sound system, since I pod still is not offered.
if the 545i body looks good, go with it. If you want a complete new car with all the timmings and up to date e60 tech, do a 530 or 550.

THanks for the review!
The two cars i'm trying to decide is now the 04' 545 with 11000 miles and an 06 530 with 1500 miles. The 545 is $1000 more....

I'm having a hard time with this dealership trying to get the service records from thsi car....
I've been succesful with 2 other BMWs in different dealerships but this one in Scottsdale does not want to give me any information.....They are not the ones with the car anymore, so what is their problem??
Is there a way around this?
