'07 550i CPO purchase - body scratches fixed
I am curious if this dealer's actions are normal. Prior to the quick story, it was a very positive experience.
I purchased a '07 550i Sport CPO car from local dealer. Looks in great condition. I did find a few scuffs including a small area by the rear reflector that had been gouged to the black plastic. They quickly took the car and buffed it out and touched up that area while I finalized the paperwork. Looks great, no issues.
I take it home and notice a couple days later the passenger rocker panel under the doors is pretty scratched up way underneath. I only noticed it from a distance walking up in the parking lot. So leaning down on the ground, I see it almost looks like the car straddled a curb and scratched it pretty bad down past the paint.
I email my salesman and he wants pics, I send them. He agrees to have body shop take a look and potentially fix it. I show up and they agree and give me a free loaner car for the day. I come back 8 hrs later and the car is immaculate. They completely removed the rocker panel and repainted it entirely.
Is this 'normal' service when buying a CPO car? Is the exterior condition expected to be as perfect as I now have? This dealer does know my other vehicle is a 528i on lease that is due up later this year and we expect to replace with another BMW.......
Here is a pic of the scrape. Hard to see, but it extended at least 3-4 feet.

Dealers are not all bad guys as you found out. How about a shot of the repaint?
More soon.

Sounds like you got a great dealer there that understands customers service. Some times in business you got to bite the bullet and do things without getting paid today and in return hope your pay comes down the line from them referring a customer or coming back to you next time.
