Hmm, it is a lot of work...

If the guy went down to 20k, then its definitely a good project fix.

I think you have to pretty much replace all the glass. all windows, windshield, and back window.

Most of the leather seats, new Idrive screen, M5 shifter, new alminum trim, new door panels, and just fix up the exterior body work, new steering wheel with airbag, Taillights, you can probably get some nice LCI tails, two vents on dashboard.

That's a lot of parts. =)

But why would he NOT have it repaired through his insurance???? I just don't understand! I would be SO pissed, but I would then call my insurance agent and get it fixed! Oh well, it will become somebody's project soon enough!
Who's to say this car wasnt victim of insurance fraud???? I mean someone went through the trouble of systematically making sure every body panel, seat, window, interior trim piece, etc was damaged. Therefore almost guaranting that everything would have to be replaced. I mean for someone to do that in a rage, I dont think they would be smart enough or have the time, unless they stole the car, to go around the car systematically to damage everything like that. And if you look closely it doesnt appear the ingintion was broke, nor does the seller mention this was a stolen car.

I dunno.....seems a little too fishy. In any case who ever did that shouldnt be allowed to reproduce!!

I just looked quickly yesterday (not going to go back and look again), but I do believe that if you read the text on the page, and not just look at the pictures, the car was listed as a theft/vandalism recovery.

Also, IIRC, the driver's side panels didn't look like they were messed up. Broken glass, yes, but I didn't see any dings or bullet holes. Or in the hood or the front or rear bumpers. It needs like a whole passenger side and a trunk lid, and glass, and damn near an entire interior.

Also odd that they left that ONE lonely window unbroken.. ??

Note to self: Never bring an M5 to a gunfight.

I'll take the wheels.
