Wow, I had no idea that the RFTs are lacking in wet grip. I am installing style 166 M5 wheels with Michelin PS2s on the 550i at delivery. The car I was referring to in my post was my 740i sport I just sold. After driving that car in the rain with the M tuned suspension and pilot sport tires, I finally understood why they don't cancel Formula One races in wet conditions. I also have an X5 and my wife has a 325xi, both of which have the Michelin MXV4s and they are both a little scarry at the limit in the rain, but the 740i sport handled the same in the wet as it did in the dry just with a lower ultimate threshold of grip. Very predictable, very fun challenge. I wonder why the run flats are not as good in the wet? Could it have something to do with the stiffer sidewalls? Generally Bridgestones have excellent wet traction.

I think itis to do with the rubber, itis not the sicky when itis hot. That why after 2 years RFT on my car still had about 70% treded on them. Good and not good
