I saw this on the road last week

It looked very nice ...the numbers are impressive but i would have to see it take out an M5 piloted by a good driver (C's Bimmer) to believe it .
It's already holding its own in the auto magazine comparisons - and the testers are probably better drivers than all of us on here... Key point, however, is that the XF-R isn't necessarily trying to compete with the M5. It's a supreme all rounder - fast, quick, monster torque and great handling. In essence it is taking some of the best characteristics of the M5 and the E63 and blending them together. That's a pretty compelling combination and while it may on paper compete with both the M and the AMG it's really offering a different proposition.

No matter how hard I try to like this car, I can't. I am already anticipating the next-gen XF. They failed big time on the front end of this car, especially the headlights. Keep the rear and make the front more agressive, less American-car looking.

To answer your question "will it hold up?". There seems to be signs of some quality issues.

This is no surprise to me. It's why I have never seriously considered Jaguars.

Perceived or not, Jag has a long way to go to demonstrate that they can produce a reliable product. I've heard too many horror stories from friends, etc. It's a shame, really, as they make some of the sexiest body styles on the market IMHO.

beautiful car and very impressive numbers...glad to see jaguar pulling their shit together
Yeah tell me about it, when they started making 30K jags I knew it was over for them. Don't make a cheap version of your car so everyone can afford it, keep the price where it is so that only the select few you intended can own one.
