XF beats E60? Really?
Lets all kill ourselves. Jeez. Its 2008, its about time the 5er gets trumped. Its a 2003 design. That said, it would be interesting to read the reviews on the Jag. I'm not impressed. The Jag allure is severely damaged and its really been assumed by Bentley. Yeah Yeah, I know the big cat topped the 7 series in a few reviews. Its a pitty the concept really never made it. Most recent Jags have been dissappointing in the flesh, styling wise. Blame FORD or that the old Jag image never manages to say anything to anyone in our current world???
Can anyone be comfortable in owning a Jag and with the new buyers down the road??? Can a good review be backed up with reliability. I'd rather compare the F10 to the established crowd in two years from now. I have no doubt the F10 will spank this Jag, no mention most everyone else.
Biased of course.

I take no offense to this - nor do I give it much credibility. Every country has a preference for local cars and the UK's media has always had an understandable soft spot for Jag. We in the US are no better. Just look at how our press plays up the CTS-v and the Malibu. Good cars both. Better than BMWs or Hondas? Not a chance.
Autocar, auto express...all saying XF beat E60 in terms of handling, refinment and the styling.
they all saying XF has its own design language, how about E60?

My local Jaguar has these in the showroom now. They have devoted their main display window to the car, it runs along a main road next to a set of lights, so I sat outside for 30 seconds and got a good look at the two cars they had on display from all angles. To some up the car in one word, "PLAIN". It's just boring and uninspiring. This car could drive past you and you wouldn't give it a second look. I would compare it to say a Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Astra, that kind of thing. No way should this even be considered as in the same class as 5 series, E-Class, A6, etc etc. I am sooooo glad i didn't order one of these.

Every single US auto magazine that has reported on a first drive or extended test has been impressed. The latest issue of Automobile just came out, and the feedback was extremely positive. Like it or not, the XF is a good car. No reason for the US mags to be biased, I'm pretty sure they are calling it like they see it. More to the point, the UK magazines you highlight have consistently had the 5 Series as their benchmark car in the segment. The only bias I see here is yours...
And yes! i am a bit biased on e60

Maybe XF's handling beat E60 but not the styling.(at least for me )

I'm just glad to see two excellent Jags in the XK and XF, I've always been a fan of the marque and it's good to see them get back on track. The forthcoming XJ replacement should also be well worth a look. Word is it's going to be a pretty radical departure from the classic design (which is what the current XJ should have had, as under the skin lurks a very competent car).

Oooh there is a new XJ coming soon? Now _THAT_ might be my next new car ... Google here I come.

Looks like 2010 as a 2011 model. Some test mules are on the scene as we speak but they have all been using an old body over the new running gear. Word seems to be (and I've seen it a few times but it's also mentioned in the article I posted) that the new XJ will more like the Aston Rapide
