I take no offense to this - nor do I give it much credibility. Every country has a preference for local cars and the UK's media has always had an understandable soft spot for Jag. We in the US are no better. Just look at how our press plays up the CTS-v and the Malibu. Good cars both. Better than BMWs or Hondas? Not a chance.

Take your point, but the flaw in that argument here is that the XF has broken a winning streak for the 5 that goes back for years - both of the UK magazines mentioned in this thread have consistently had the 5 series as their top pick in its class.

Local Jaguar agent promotes XF very well.
The premium luxury + B&W system 3.0 petrol sold NT$2,990,000 (US$93,400), received 40 orders in a month.
In 2007 S type sold 17 cars a whole year.
while 2008 530i sold NT$3,260,000 (US$101,900) with std stereo, 10 speakers.

I look at the XK before. In person the car was beautiful !!!! but it still drove like a Ford. I'm sure the new XF will too

I think the rear end looks alot like a 7 series, and I'm sure its no accident either. I'm still amazed how the automotive press etc. HATED the 7 series rear end, and now they all have copied the look! As for the front end, I think it looks like the next Camry Solara!

I couldn't agree more, the front end is boring. How could they have gone from the amazing concept front to the snoozfest production front.

Concept Front, AMAZING

The entire concept car was great, exterior and interior. I was going to order one instead of the 535d. Then I started hearing bad things about the production car and decided not to get it. Then I saw the production shots and was so glad I didn't order one, I'd have been so disappointed. It's bland and boring and completely against what the spirit of Jaguar used to be about. I owned an XJ-Sport and loved it. The new XJ is like a barge, the X is pretty dire, and the XF is just ... not a jaguar. I don't even care that much for the current XK - the previous version was (and still is) a much better looking vehicle.

The front end is boring, looks American. The rear is amazing, cross of a Aston and XK. Interior is great also, gear shifter is like a idrive shifter.

The base 4.2 liter V8 Jaguar XF will go for $49,975 while the Supercharged variant is priced at $62,975.

There will be a more powerful XF-R.

Here is a Top Gear video review of the XF:

More specific, the front looks like Chrysler. But overall, I still like this car.
