Sorry, but the design is just OLD... Really looking dated IMO.
It does sound like AMG is trying to develop more of a 'drivers car' with improved handling. They'll have a long way to go to make the car as involving and fun to drive as the M5. The engine specs are terrific though, and the car should match or beat the M5 in a straight line. Still a slushbox though...

Sorry, find the car ugly.
It's too conservative...too mercedes
That front grill bleaaah...ugly car.
The engine is just crazy, as shown at top gear when they tested CL 65 AMG, i mean yeah the car is fast, but it doesn't have what it takes to get the power to the road. The engine itself is not that bad, ugly in sound compared to the m5 but that's maybe just me. If you floor that car from standstill with traction control off you'll just sit there for a while in a cloud of tire smoke, hardly even moving. If you leave it on, it will simply help you lauch better but it will cut alot of the engine power/torque. Hell i even have that problem in mt 535d sometimes, but my car is a different stuff to that of the merc (LSD, gearbox and so on...). So the only place it will do good is when overtaking, but even there if the road is wet or a bit slippery (leaves or stuff) you are still going to get the TC light blinking all the time cutting the engine power. So unless the surface is PERFECT neat and dry and hot, i don't see the point of that output on the road (especially the torque).
PS: a team of 8 man in TG test had a contest with the CL65 AMG and wanted to see if they could pull the car in a tag and war contest. Guess what 8 men managed to pull the car. Also they have a drag race: aston martin db9 and a bentley continental gt. The merc won obviously. Poor competition there.

I think 'amazingly beautiful' and 'faster than the M5' might be going a bit far, but I would like a quick go in one
How do they manage to get so much torque - 630nm vs 520nm in the M5, with only 7 extra hp?

My Ride: 2006 530i.... Saphire Black Metallic...19 inch Axis Milanos....Auburn dakota interior.....ACS rear lip spoiler... And a whole lot of head turns ;)
The side vents on the front bumper looks, well looks like a civic aftermarket piece... Nice car other than that... I think on the road it will definately stand out more...
