Dirty Weekend: Magnificent
Blow Off Boy Racer: Hilarious
Late For An Appointment: Priceless
Kids In The Back: Easy
Kudos: Yu Know It
The Wife: LOVES IT
Respect On The Street: Always
Attention From The Boys In Blue: Not Since I've Owned It....

E46 M3...........DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL L....

Don't hate.......Audi have finally cracked it.

I hope new M3 wipes the floor with it though

P>S> I would keep the E60 AND have the Rs4.........

Given the choice? Keep the E60

No doubt.
The spaciousness and presence of the e60 is better, but I would love to have both too.

Welcome to the fourm!

Nittygritty, I was in Maidstone a few weeks ago, and stayed at the Marriott Tudor Park Golf and Country Club. I was surprised to note that the parking lot had quite a few E60s with more than half of them being petrol. Considering that the 535d moves like a bat out of hell why would anyone want to buy the 530i or 540i and get buggered at the pump for the price of petrol.

Nice to see someone in my neck of the woods!!

I totally agree with you bout the petrol models although round town
I only get 18MPG!!

Even so, the car is effortless to drive and equally effortless to enjoy.

Today I took my parents Xmas shopping and we were caught in traffic
doing 40mph in a National Speed limit zone.

As soon as there was a moderate straight with no opposing traffic near
it only took a flick of the auto-box to sport and a quick blip of the throttle
and we were at 75. Needless to say we cleared the traffic and I slowed to
maintain my folks comfort round the bends only for some boy racer to
pull in behind us with his fog lights on ready to race. When he eventually
turned off at the next roundabout I checked the mirror and noted he was
driving an E36. BM drivers eh?

Yo Centurion

This month's EVO (the best unbiased performance car magazine in my opinion) has a back to back of the RS4 vs M3 vs E55 AMG.

Those who haven't read it yet and don't want the surprise to be spoiled, don't look down.

Some of you probably have already heard about Audi's upcoming RS4. What do you guys think of it?

http://www.fast-autos.net/audi/05audirs4.html

I've always been a big fan of Audi. I was actually out to buy the new Audi S4 when I heard of the RS4. Next thing I knew, I was driving home in my 545 with a big grin on my face... No idea what happened but not complaining one bit...
Audi's are VW's!

Sorry, not interested!

If you want a smaller car wait for the new E92 M3 or the Z4 M.

Slight correction...this should read C55.

Thanks for the heads up.

By that token, Porsche's are VW's too !!! VW owns Porsche and something like the Cayenne and Tourag are essentially the same car.

You could also say Chrysler's are Mercs or Jaguars and Aston's are Ford's. The list can go on and on....

I would take Audi's build quality over BMW's and Merc's put together any day of the week. BMW's tend to handle more to my liking and I prefer the looks of the E60 over the A6 and therefore ended up with the E60. However I have no qualms about buying an Audi in the future. Top cars by another solid German manufacturer.

VW does not own Porsche, moreover, Porsche took over 21,9 % of VW stocks because VW was crippling just last year. The only further connection is that Porsche chef Wendelin Wiedeking is also member of the board of directors at VW. Both companies splitted from one family, with different owners.

Half of VW belongs to the federal state of lower saxony, Porsche privately owned
