Some of you probably have already heard about Audi's upcoming RS4. What do you guys think of it?

I've always been a big fan of Audi. I was actually out to buy the new Audi S4 when I heard of the RS4. Next thing I knew, I was driving home in my 545 with a big grin on my face... No idea what happened but not complaining one bit...

I read a few articles on it and one write-up thinks the car will be priced around $80K!!! Until I bought my 545, I loved Audis but $80K??? The S4 tops out at about $54K fully loaded so I'm stunned by the $26K difference. I hope that price is wrong. Wonder how much the new e90 M3 V8 will be.

400-hp seems to be the minimum requirement in this segment. The price ranges I've seen have varied from below $60k to upwards of $80k. I doubt there would be much market acceptance at the high end of these prices.
That said, I think a premium compact sedan or coupe with a 350-hp V-8 for $50-60k would be the right price point in this market, rather than engaging in a HP war with the competition.

Wonder what the next iteration will be like....probably about 500hp also to be competitive with the M5 and E55.

Yeah, the old RS6 got the better of the E39 M5, but it had the benefit of coming out later. It's a good used car - they're really holding their value.
I know a few people with modified current-gen S4 cars, they're not uber impressive. I mean, it's as heavy as the 550i, with less horsepower. Sure the RS4 looks like it will be a beast, but for that money, I doubt any of us would choose it over the other options in that price range.

With all my respect to all who think that this car is over priced:
This car accelerates from 0-125 mph in 16.6 seconds, has shown a top speed of 193 mph with the limiter off.
This car has a quattro system, which will give it more stability than the M3 or the M5. That is also why it is so heavy as one of the forum members stated. The complicated quattro system with two extra differentials doesn't come light.
The piston speed in this car is one of the fastest in the world reaching 25 m/s, which is as fast as a formula 1 piston.
IMHO, this car is great
, and I think BMW will have a very hard time creating an M3 that is more stable or faster than this at this price.
