When my dealer is getting the car back from the paint shop he checks the car. If there are any problems he calls and tells me it takes another two days, there is a problem they need to fix.
He will NOT deliver when there is a problem.

When you get the parts from your shop, check them and refuse them if there is a problem...

This sounds like quality control takes the backseat when there is a rush. And if you happen to receive a kit without any blemishes, thats because the shop is having a good day and you're lucky. I just cant accept that. If I'm spending $2k, I want great service and great product.

Actually I'm paying about the same as what Waco paid and my BMW dealer will have the kit done right with installation and warranty. The best buying decision I made and not going with earlier GB.

Sorry, I know this thread is about buying experience from quad_m and I don't have any to offer here. But I'm just fed up and feel bad for the others and have to say something.

Tony, you are in denial.

dranged there are no denials, there are facts and they are true.

r9ndy's front M5 bumper (499 group buy priced $200 refund)
the chang's alpina front spoiler and trunk lip , M sides ($800 discounted ),
terracota's m5 spoiler were painted by the old body shop which I left
and found another body shop which paints much better.

wacopolumbo rushed his kit since he is in army in germany and had to leave to Iraq and we did his kit right away
and came out very nice but we did rush on it and could not see any small details since it was packed
and sent out same day.

krazydutch's kit you can see the pictures I just posted for reference at the previous page.

for the record, any kit is rushed for sure it wont come out perfect or satisfying.

No Tony, he is saying YOU need to see these problems before delivering them to YOUR customers. YOU are our eyes when YOU receive the product from Germany. YOU are our eyes when the paint jobs are complete. YOU must inspect everything before it ships. That is YOUR job. This is what YOU do for a living. This is why we buy from YOU.

Not to mention, receiving 3 enormous boxes only to find crappy paint jobs and having to deal with returning them is just unacceptable. YOU are our Quality Control person before these ship. Many companies call it QCD (Quality Control Departments). It's all about YOU!

What's your definition of "rushed" Tony? Because from the sounds of it, none of these kits were "rushed".

Sure, I'll tell you. You fix it first, then ship it. As you're doing so, you communicate with the buyer that it will be an extra day. In your supposed "T&C's", you might want to mention this as part of your quality control/final inspection process. However, I do not suggest taking this as an opportunity to excuse yourself from delaying your products even further. Hopefully, the body shop is doing these jobs in an air tight, dust-free environment and is using competent painters to do the job.

To other members - Am I missing something here? Is it just me? If he checks the quality of the parts and see's that a paint job is bad, does he still ship it? Or does he notify the customer that upon final inspection, prior to packing and shipping, a few blemishes were noticed and are being fixed. It will then ship the next day or the day after. I just think he's over his head. This type of work is not a one-man show and it's abundantly clear that quantity is taking over quality and timeliness. When Tony joined this board 2 years ago, the order flow was not what it is today. His customer base has grown significantly, but his operation remains the same. Not good. Tony - I think you should source multiple body shops and possibly hire a few associates or assistants. I think that will help a lot. If you can't support this growth, you might want to consider not selling these kits anymore. People shouldn't have to wait 6 months. It's just not right.

Lastly - When are you shipping the UNpainted deck lid spoiler to the winner of the East Coast meet? There should be no hold-ups with this, as it's not being painted by you. The winner agreed to have it painted locally and spend their own money, to have it immediately. Do I still need to wait 3 weeks for an unpainted part?

yes I do try now hard to make everyone happy, but we cant do anything if you are in rush and there is a fly? under the clear coat, you called me around 5 times a day to make sure if I shipped or not. and the kit was delivered in 2 days to germany. I sold it for $2350 and I cant control your customs duty charges sir.

not EVEN OEM BMW parts are painted perfectly! i do see many blemishes, dirt clear ran on many stock bumpers and pre-painted factory M spoilers and see the post of jdhart73 he even claims the same fact when he installed his kit.None of the painted kits will never ever be perfect just to let you know.
what kind of customer service is that ??????? I do have a bussines also and if tell my clients that type of answers they probably go somewere else...

good luck
