You must go to the Synchronization profiles and disable auto-sync in the default profile. Works for me.

should do the trick hopefully, going to test now....
Did this do the trick? You never posted back to say whether you were successful or not?

I'm about to try this with my new Nokia E71...

I don't know if you had any success with this on the N95 but it doesn't work on the E71. I can send individual business cards to the car and after disconnecting and reconnecting these will appear in the phonebook on the iDrive screen, but this is a pain in the arse!

There is obviously something lacking from the handset end which prevent the car from retrieving the whole phonebook; does anyone know of any other third-party apps or plug-ins for the E71 that might resolve this?

Lucky You. I'm not getting any luck with sending business cards.
I did everything according to instructions in this thread a couple of times.
The phonebook is not synchronizing and when I try to send a business card to the car it says 'Unable to connect'.

I'm out of hope right know. I think that some cars just wont work with this solution (mine is 07.2006 with Prof navi)

I've tried all these things and not luck so far in either transfering contacts or reading the SIM contacts - however I can make and recieve calls fine.
I'm now trying something else, I'm just updating my N95 firmware (from 15.0.015 to 30.0.018), let's see if this will work.... keep you posted!
