The following steps made my Verizon Treo work perfectly with my 2006 550i.

Remove any parentheses () or hyphens - from the numbers in your favorites.

Remove the voice mail favorite provided by your provider and replace it with your own favorite without any parentheses, hyphens or additions.

This should work.

Just picked up my E60 and constant problems with the 650. Froze the phone and crashed the communications system. Then I figured it out.

Don't just remove extra digits! Remove any favorite buttons that have anytning else on them other than straight phone numbers. The fav. buttons become the phone book on the BMW system. All pages too! No extra digits, no apps, no shortcuts, just phone numbers. It works great!!!!!! You only get a total of 70 numbers to use as the BMW phone book. Not great but it work without crashing once. Anything else you can program to the phone book. Bit of a comprimise but at least it doesn't crash!
