Talked to dealer about bluetooth today.

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
I like my dealer, they are a Dinan distributor and a member of BMWCCA. I think I get a straight answer from them. Anyway, they said that they could try to get it working now but it mighht disable some other functions ie. SOS, key memory. and they did say that each build batch of cars is different with what exact hardware they use so they could not be exactly sure the outcome if they tried. They have done some successfully and other not successfully but they did say that BMW is working on getting all of the cars working. He asked if I wanted to try (feeling lucky, punk) or wait for an officail BMW release. I waited, would have to buy a blue tooth phone anyway.

This is what is nuts about this. So far, everyone who has attempted getting BT installed from march 04 onwards has succeeded. But the printed info from BMWNA says it is not possible on cars built prior to 9/04. However, upon asking them by phone, they say that it is possible.
It just makes the dealers totally confused and makes them all loose money and us loose features we thought we were going to be getting.
