My Ride: BMW 545i 2004
Default Snap-in BT adapter for early 545i

Guys hi.
I am new at this so I apologise up front if this topic has been already covered. Guys I have a BMW 545i built in Nov 2003 and delivered to Australia in early 2004. It has iDrive and navigation which is just turn by turn only. Guys my car has a BMW phone cradle in between the from seats. It is however old and I can not use my iPhone 5 with it. Is there a snap-in bluetooth adapter I could get to simply replace the old phone and allow my iPhone 5 to be used ? When I use my iDrive screen it does indicate that there is bluetooth available but when I go through the process my car does not find my iPhone.
Is there a simple solution for this problem to make my iPhone work? (The steering wheel has all the normal phone related buttons).

Thanks.

I use the motorola snap-in adapter that was in my car when I bought it. I was able to get it to pair with my old Blackberry as well as my iphone4. i don't get my contacts and recent calls imported into iDrive with my iphone like i did with the blackberry, but i do get hands-free call functionality. look for a used snap-in BTUM on ebay or your local BMW forums. If I remember correctly there is one specific to apple phones.

Guys thanks for the advise. Much appreciate it.
By the way, it is a shame that there is not a snap in adaptor other than the unit mentioned above which it may or may not work with the iPhone 5 I want to use with. Anyway lets try it and see what happens....
