Thought that I would share my experience with the Samsung A920. I purchased it yesterday, and although it paired with my 2006 530xi and I could use the phone, the address book etc. did not upload. I then did a Google search and found that there are two firmware updates for the phone, called ZB06 and ZB07. The phone comes with a USB cable, and updating the firmware is simple through your computer with internet link. You have to do the update two times, first to get ZB06, and then to get ZB07. Once I updated to the latest firmware, the phone works like a charm! Everything is functional, including the address book.
My car has a January 2006 build date, but I don't know the CIP version. I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it sure worked for me. Hope this is useful to Sprint (and other) subscribers.

Glad to help. The need to have the latest cell phone firmware wasn't so obvious, so I thought that someone would find it useful. The A920 bluetooth works flawlessly with my car. I can't tell you whether it will work with all CIP versions- My build date was January 2006, but I don't know my CIP version.
Thank you so much for this post. I bought an '05 325i yesterday (after wrecking my 03 while looking at my cell phone to see who was calling..... DUMB!). Anyway, I already have the Samsung A-920 and I was able to get them it working, I received one phone call and haven't been able to pair it since. The techs at Sprint and BMW told me I would need a new phone! So glad to see your post. I am currently downloading the two updates you mentioned. Crossing my fingers!!!!

I just got the Samsung A-920 for Sprint based on reviews here. I'm happy to report the phone works great right out of the box with I-Drive (including phone book). I'm glad I did not have to get the Treo 650 as I did not need a PDA. I wonder if there is a way to notify BMW as they only recommend the Treo for Sprint users. Thanks for the posts!
