Which Bluetooth Phone for E60
Hi there, I'm going to be taking delivery of an E60 in April in the UK and need to get a bluetooth phone before then, looking in the brochure there are 3 choices.
Nokia 6310i

Ericsson T39
http://www.ericsson.com/press/t39-1.html
Siemens S55

I currently have an ageing Nokia 6210 so I know what I'm getting with a 6310i but it starting to look a bit old now. The T39 doesn't do it for me, the S55 looks nice enough though.
I've read about some other bluetooth phones working with the car, but BMW are only making snap in adaptors for the above three at the moment ?

Garry,
I use a Nokia 6310 and a 6310i with mine both work very well with the bluetooth. The snap in adapter for the Nokia has not been released by BMW UK yet but is I understand due shortly. The adapters for the Siemens and Sony Ericson have just become available within the last week or so.

The S55 and the snap-in adapter works superbly.
However, if you use the phone stand-alone, the interface seems slightly deranged/old-fashion. However the camera (bundled with some models - and inludes a flash) is great - and writing SMSs on the handset itself is very easy. Sound quality and so on is great when using the mic mounted to the ceiling.

E60-530d-London, do you know if the T610 transfers phone and sim or sim only ? I think that it looks like the best pick for me at the moment, 8910 prices seem quite high.

Hi Garry
The T610 transfers all contacts both from phone & SIM memory. I have around 200 contacts in the phone which came from my Outlook address book and these are now all in the car.
The only think I haven't tried out is voice activated dialling. As mentioned in a previous post on this subject, using I-Drive is so easy I haven't felt the need to bother with voice activation.
Hope that helps....

I thought the T610 was the pick of the bunch too. I had to sell on my previous phone - a Sony Ericsson P800 - as it refused to work with the BMW Bluetooth. The P800 was bought as a substitute for my IPAQ (like you- I just wanted the one device). Turns out that the T610 manages contacts & calendar just as well even on a smaller display. You won't be disappointed. Frankly, I can do without carrying around a house brick in my pocket!
