UPDATE on Motorola Q

The new software update released by Verizon and Motorola adds the signal strength indicator when you connect the phone via bluetooth! Everything else still works the same.

I just updated my Q with the latest from Mot's site. I found another big bonus in addition to getting the signal strenth meter.

It lists the type of number next to each entry! For example, if a number is a work number, it has a (W) beside it. (H) for home, (M) for mobile, etc...

This is a huge improvement - with the old code, it just listed all the numbers, and you kind of had to remember which one was which when deciding how you were going to reach someone.

I've been using an Audiovox XV6600 (Verizon) for over a year now, and I got just basic handsfree functionality with my 2005 545i. Just switched to a Motorola Q and I was delighted to find full Contacts transfer, voice dialing, incoming/outgoing number/name display etc - very cool. I believe this is the first PDA/Pocket PC/Smartphone that offers full bluetooth capabilities with our cars, I'm pretty happy

What are the steps to pair the moto q with our car? 04 545i is the one i have.

Thanks!

I just picked up an 06 530Xi and have tried to link a Motorola Q9m with the car, with no success. Is there anything special you had to do with either the phone or the car?

Thanks.
