Initially I would say it took about 20 minutes as Hormazd indicated. After that if you add any more to the phonebook on the phone, I noticed that they were in the iDrive fairly quickly.
I just purchased and took delivery of a 545 (6 Sp, Black, Tan Interior, Sirius Sat). I successfully linked a Motorola V505 mobile phone; however, I can not get the phonebook to transfer over. Does anyone know how to transfer the phonebook from a mobile phone to the iDrive?
(On a side note, I traded in an 4 month old '04 911 Carrerra - the 545 is without doubt a Porsche with four doors!)

Welcome aboard, I recently took delivery of a 545i too after driving a 2005 Carrerra. I won't lie, I have always wanted a 911, but I use the car for work and besides the price of the Porsche, I was just not comfortable enough. Good Luck
I should have been more thoughtful as you were about my initial purchase at the time. I also use my car for work, but having always wanted a Porsche, thought it would work. After a few months, it became clear that it was not the best choice.
