I certainly hope they are working on this.? It seems like it would be such a simple fix with software.? Why are they doing nothing??? I want to be able to call someone and leave a voice mail.

I read somewhere in TIS that that is a 'feature' and is supposed to work that way for some reason.

About the 5 ring limit. I've tried several phones with my car searching for one with coverage I could stand. I used the V505 and V551. Both had the 5 ring limit. I then got the v710 with Verizon and the 5 ring limit is gone. I leave voicemails all the time. Can others confirm or deny that it is partly a phone issue???

Yes, it is a feature..... that's my point. It should be easy to fix that way. It is an annoyance.

My mom is visiting me this week. She has a V710.

I will pair her phone and try tonight. I will report back.

I do not think this is a phone issue, however. I have a BT headset for my phone, and it allows me to leave voicemails.

This version seems to answer some of the questions floating around on various threads about the use of snap in adapters (docking cradles). Fortunately I have an '05 and I am scheduled for an 8am install of option 644 and associated eject box. My sales guy did a fit check and rejected some parts about two weeks ago and had some new parts orderd (correct eject box I believe). Redid the fit check and things connected ok so we are trying tomorrow. 644 apparently came with 28 pages of installation wiring instructions (I assume various models covered). Successful or not I will try to lay hands on as much documentation as possible to share.

Thanks alot for this And u too ledbettm

I will take both versions with me as I llike to give the service people as much info as I can as they don't always see these things if no one has tried or has problems. My dealer is kinda smallish so I believe I am the first for some things.

I paired my mom's Moto V710 with my car, and dialed my cell phone while it was turned on.

The car rang my phone 5 times, and then hung up before voice mail answered.

This is a feature BMW put on the system, thinking they were being clever and convenient. They were sorely mistaken.

I personally do not see how someone could possibly do something so idiotic? It makes no sense to have a ring limit.

- - especially with a hang-up button conveniently located within thumb's reach at all times. Seems goobery to put this in the software - and I can't understand the logic behind it. What's the harm of going 10 rings, or 20? Who cares - it's free airtime 99.9% of the time.

I just read the latest SB on Bluetooth. Very interesting information. I am afraid to post because I think it is not legal. In summary it adresses all kinds of issues with intermittent pairing, sound quality etc. If you reply to this post with your specific problems I am happy to check the SB and tell you what it says. This is for North American builds ONLY.

Thanks
