Rarely it also happens to me but a few times when i quickly checked the phone to see who is really calling i saw: Name X or Name Y calling, meaning that the same number was stored with two different names, and i assume the idrive doesn't know what to show up.

Try re-pairing your BT connection? Delete from both your car and the phone and then start fresh. I suddenly had problems (dont know what triggered it) but re-paired the connection from scratch and all has been well. doesn't hurt to try if you havn't already...

What really irritates me is that I have a Verizon Blackblerry Storm, and had the exact same problems, to which the dealer blamed the phone. So, I cancelled my contract with Verizon and purchased the iPhone which is on BMWs support list, and still it doesn't work.
