Model Year: 2011
Not on my 2008 550, but my wife just upgraded to a 3G and she is having this issue on her 2007 X5. Both our phones are running the latest Apple software so the only variable is the car, likely software. I know for a fact that she has not had a software update since taking delivery in May 2007...

my program was upgraded twice already with the newest one... and still does it sometimes

I've had that sometimes. Its because for some reason the address book doesn't sync so no names show up on the phone book.
Next time you get that, check your phone book and see if it synced. It happens. Wierd.
