My Ride: 2006 530i
I have a 2006 530I with no CD changer. I looked on ebay and saw some aftermarket ipod adapters for around $20. It looks too good to be true, is there another device that hooks up to the cd changer plug and the wire adapter plug hooks into that?? I have seen other kits around $300 but they dont really go into alot of detail on what function each one the parts do. I just want an inexpensive DIY job to get my IPod working in the car.

realy, it depends on coding...and how you want it setup...
I beleive that if your car is coded to play mp3's, then you can plug into the cd chager bus cable..through a special juntion box.
If you have an usb that might change some things...?
