Hi
I am thinking of getting a hp ipaq 514 instead of my trusty nokia as vista has rendered my pda out of date and I do miss some of its features. The hp has windows mobile 6 on it so should be quite useful, however I would not bother if it didn't work with my car!
Has anyone paired one of these with their 5?
Regards

I will bet getting a 514 through my job in the next couple of weeks, so will be able to let you know how it works (if you can wait). I have a '07 520D with factory fitted BT kit....

Hope it works, I'd be interested to see how you get on, good luck!!
Am moving contacts from Nokia -> Outlook -> iPaq today, so will update later as to whether or not these become available under 'A-Z' in iDrive.

Can confim that only SIM contacts are replicated by default. Windows Contacts will not be available in iDrive without using the 3rd party software mentioned elsewhere in this forum (can't remember the name!).
Aside from that, BT performance is perfect

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me, sorry I've not responded sooner, I've been away a bit recently! So the phone connects to the car OK, and any numbers stored on the SIM card work through the car, i.e. I can scroll through my phone book for numbers on the SIM. Only the contacts from outlook don't work?
Thanks very much for letting me know!

Hello,
Anybody succeeded synchronising the contacts already?
At this moment I'm using a Nokia 6300 (works perfectly).
The mobile fleet management of my work will give an HP IPAQ 514 as newyearsgift.
Whiiiiiiiiiiiii
But when it's not sync'ing...
I read about 3rd party tools which can solve this problem. Does anybody knows how?

That is so strange, a WM5 PDA will sync all contacts but a WM6 one will sync only SIM contacts. Thats a step backwards.

Hello,
Took the risk after all, I bought an IPAQ 514.
The sync'ing is just PERFECT and i don't need any other software for it.
My car and the phone were born for eachother :-)
