This is the problem im having, haven't really looked in to it much, but my iphone was jailbroken about a year and a half ago on one of the newer firmwares, 1.12 i think im running, and i would like to update to firmware above 2.0 and still have it jailbroken, is this possible? and is there anyway to save my current settings if it ibricks it self.
BUT i know for sure that you can't update to the latest firmware, untill only a jailbrake comes out for that firmware. So all the jailbroken iphones will be one step behind any bug fix or enhancement coming from Apple.

Due to stability issues you may wanna keep your iPhone stock. I had the 1st gen iPhone and it became a nightmare once it was jailbroken and I installed Cydia on it. You get some really cool features, but at the end of the day it was not only my cell phone, but my only phone since I had no land line either. The device crashed way too many times (in the middle of calls, searching the internet, texting, etc... to make it worthwhile for me.
Another thing...You'll have to re-jailbreak it EVERY time there's a new software update....
I like the BMW theme posted above, but one thing that's nice about the "stock" apple theme is that you can tell what applications are by the PICTURES and not only by the text.
